Instituto Chileno Suizo Santiago
The Instituto Chileno Suizo was founded in 2000 through a Chilean-Swiss partnership. The school offers a large variety of language courses for both Chileans and foreigners and has become well known for its cultural center and regular program of exhibitions and workshops. In 2008, the Chilean government recognized the school for the quality of its language courses.
The Instituto Chileno Suizo offers a small but high quality range of courses. The school is a good place for students with little or no prior Spanish knowledge, who want to learn the language efficiently in a short period of time. An advantage is the small class size and practical use of the language during class. The school’s teachers all have a university diploma and at least two years of experience teaching Spanish. Another advantage of studying here is that the Instituto Chileno Suizo also offers English, French, German and Italian lessons to local residents, which gives you the opportunity to make Chilean friends. Private lessons can be adapted individually and be combined with business Spanish lessons or exam preparation DELE for example.
The school is located in the young and trendy Barrio Lastarria, the bohemian part of the city where there are many small independent shops, cafes, theatres, museums and cinemas. A popular spot for artists and culture enthusiasts. There are also a few universities nearby, so the area has a student vibe and a creative atmosphere. The nearest metro station is only five minutes’ walk away. The school is spread over two floors of a four-story building from the year 1942 that has been declared a historical monument. The Instituto Chileno Suizo also has another school building in the street Dublé Almeyda close to the Ñuñoa metro station. Spanish courses may take place either in the main building or in Ñuñoa. The location will be confirmed at the time of booking.
The Instituto Chileno Suizo organizes a weekly activity program including tours of the city, culture workshops, dancing and cooking lessons and cinema nights. Some of these activities are offered free of charge and others are at a reduced price. The school’s staff can also help you to plan excursions for your free time.
